Keep this in mind: “Video can convey an appropriate emotional tone in a way that text alone can’t manage.” But, what does it take to produce a comprehensive corporate video to use it as a medium between corporate and client? Well, the not-so-surprising answer is, it depends. Who is your audience? How do you expect the outcome will be? — blablabla other rhetoric questions. But, of course, some key points should be considered as a basis of your corporate videos such as finding the right production house, pre-production, audience, and the content.

A professional production house that has good track records and experience in producing corporate video *cough* like us *cough* should be considered as your first choice. First, professional corporate video PH has already know how corporate videos are developed. It’s likely for them to understand what needs to be put in the content, know how it is created from pre-production until presentable output. Furthermore, they have all the equipment, professional camera person, editor, director, and other things considered! You would be worry-less if you hire a professional PH than being anxious about your output if you hire someone who just knows the camera for like 2 months.

Pre-production refers to the things to manage before the production begins. Things like script, storyboard, location scouting, budgeting, etc take place as the main component to begin the production with. It builds up the premise of the “building.” Pre-production needs to be arranged completely in detail, so it won’t interrupt the production progress. With proper preparation comes genuine output. Here in Charprod, we cover up the pre-production components from concept development until the storyboard.

We all must agree that we can’t give VICE’s readers with a formal 8–5 content that focuses on Java holds back Indonesia’s manufacturing industry; by the same token, content about Rich Brian ‘The Sailor’ album to thejakartapost’s readers, right? Knowing your audience is an important aspect to consider before developing your content. Different age range audiences may result in different content, even it is for the same corporate. It’s important to build common ground between you (the corporate) and the audience. Analyze what type of audience your corporate by finding age range, culture, educational level, etc.

So now you have covered your audience types and stuff, let’s work on the content. There are some common plots in corporate video styles such as telling a story, a problem-solution plot, or even a spoken company explanation by a guy in a black suit with a soothing voice. A story-based plot would be more exciting for the audience to watch as it engages viewers’ emotions. But I can’t stress it enough, it depends. Have a discussion with the production team to share what is the best plot to use in your corporate video. Usually, the production team has various ideas to consider as your reference. Besides the plot, the message that you want to deliver should be concise. You don’t leave the audience to identify the message wrongly. Other components like visually appealing shots, up-lifting background music usually have already served by the production house.
